Hennef-based company takes promotion truck to Frankfurt

(Hennef, 26 April 2006) On 1 May all cycling enthusiasts will have their eyes on the country's financial capital of Frankfurt for the showdown between the world’s cycling elite in the "Rund um den Henninger Turm” professional cycling race. This year AIRNERGY will also be on the starting line, admittedly on four wheels, not two. Throughout the 190km race the technology-based company from Hennef will be leading the riders from the front in its Hummer truck. The promo truck will also provide a meeting point for VIPs, press and customers at the start and end of the race.

The celebrated cycle race has been capturing the public’s imagination for 44 years now. In 2005 21 professional teams with 180 riders from a total of 24 nations took part in the event in Hesse. In addition, several thousand other young riders and amateur cyclists took part in a further eight races.
As in previous years around 1.5 million spectators will also be lining the track in 2006 to see the stars battling it out for the prestigious title. ARD and Hessische Rundfunk will be broadcasting the race live on TV.

Leading the way and keeping the racers on the right track will be AIRNERGY in its 560-bhp H2 Hummer. And there will be a true pro at the wheel: Schumi III -otherwise known as Sebastian Stahl, Seat Leon Supercup champion and runner-up in the Alfa 147 Cup. At the start of April the 27-year old made his successful debut for Germany in the A1 Grand Prix series in Shanghai. Ideal preparation then for guiding the Hennef company’s Hummer through to the end of the race. At the finish the promotion truck will be there to welcome the competitors and the expert sales team from AIRNERGY will be on hand to answer any questions on respiratory air therapy. Denis Oster, a former rookie racer with Team Telekom and pro-cyclist for Team Lamonta, will also be there as a special adviser for AIRNERGY providing information not just on energy-filled air but also offering expert advice as an experienced cyclist.

Oster himself has very good memories of this classic race, winning the overall King of the Mountains classification a few years ago ahead of Fabian Wegemann, now riding for the Gerolsteiner team.
